just links

some awesome things:

- Film Forum is showing a Hitchcock film every day for a month starting December 9! And they're all 35mm prints (if you don't know what that means, it means something awesome)! These are the ones you have to see: Foreign Correspondent, The 39 Steps, North by Northwest, and the 1956 Man Who Knew Too Much. Also Dial M For Murder in 3D!!! wtf.

- a good essay in which we learn why we are too old to listen to death cab but we still like to sort of

- Anniemal!

- a live panel discussion of Trapped in the Closet. featuring aziz ansari. friday at midnight. this is going to be the greatest thing ever, ever.

- a machine that makes up hispter t-shirts automatically, like a machine. the point is that hispters are stupid, right? i have all these shirts by the way.

only links tonight. maybe tomorrow i'll put up a picture or something

five songs

ready? ok!

ted leo - bridges, squares
a song about boston. hi friends in boston!

final fantasy - peach, plum, pear
while i'm iffy on the rationale behind naming your band final fantasy, this is a fantastic cover of my favorite joanna newsom song

the thrills - our wasted lives
it's not like i've got time on my side

u.s.e. - emerald city
bonus points for what i guess is an allusion to "I Love L.A."

art brut - emily kane
best song of ever

a story of literally no importance

stephin merritt parkway

last weekend ben and I visited a place where we used to live. I took some pictures of it.

but wait till you go inside

we went inside and were shocked to learn that the new residents were much better at interior design than we had been. we immediately regretted everything in our lives up to that point.
That is a bicycle wheel with christmas lights on the wall.
We didn't even have a couch.

However. The shelf I built in my bathroom was still there. Look at the cardboard keeping it level on the left side! I built that! Seeing this shelf again felt amazing.
Some things will be forgotten but some
things are never going to be forgotten.

In conclusion, don't visit places you used to live, it's better to look to the future. Do a dance!

so I know who steve is, and I know who mike is, but who are those other guys? my theory: A Street Team!!!!! Lordy!

anyway, don't plug any bands or talk about music on your blog ever, i guess. cause then people will post on it. and who wants that.

kickstart, jr.

Have you ever tried to explain the Go! Team to someone? It renders human language useless.

Anyway their show was good.Right on, fist pump guy. Right on.

News: I got a job! More PA work, but what's that you say? I'm working for native english speakers? How now!!!!!!
(i actually got two jobs, one of which doesn't pay, but don't tell my friends. if you are my friend, then the reason i can't hang out on the weekends for a little while is because...it is because i am a batman.)

two songs:
Ben Lee - Float On: Not new, or relevant, or (some might say) even a particularly interesting cover. ok, fine. Why are you being a dick?
Magnetic Fields - Take Ecstacy With Me: Also old. Wait for the chorus.

okay, goodnight america, love adam
